Founded in the late 1800s, North Hollywood began as an agricultural community, producing peaches and wheat. Although the town experienced a flood in 1938, it continued to grow. It was also home to numerous airfields during World War II. As a result, many ranchers were forced to move from the area, and real estate developers began marketing the area to potential buyers. The area was renamed North Hollywood in 1927.

Located near the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and about a mile east of Valley Village, North Hollywood is a key San Fernando Valley community. It's also home to many artists, writers, filmmakers, and musicians. Residents tend to be liberal and the public schools are above average. In terms of culture, North Hollywood is a cosmopolitan hub with a distinctly Los Angeles flavor.

North Hollywood CA has a diverse housing market. There are 257 homes for sale and three hundred and ninety-three rental units. Twenty-five of these properties were newly listed within the past week. In addition to buying a new home, residents can rent a home in the arts district or near the NoHo Arts district.
