If you're interested in culture, don't miss the Margaret Herrick Library, which has collections spanning over four thousand years. With thousands of works of art on display, the Library is a treasure for art lovers.

The city was once a desert inhabited by sheepherders, cattle ranchers, and oil companies. The development of Beverly Hills' real estate industry changed the city's landscape. While it may still be a small community, it's home to some of the world's most famous celebrities. A video explaining the history of Beverly Hills is available online, and you can see the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and its transformation from the lima bean fields and orange groves to the world-famous street it is today.

The Heegaard Building was a brick and mortar business that opened in 1924. Its lobby is adorned with fresco murals depicting life in the Great Depression. Famed screenwriter Dan Petrie Jr. wrote Beverly Hills Cop in this building. This building remains haunted by the spirits of long-dead screenwriters. It is now the home to the Vanity Fair magazine's Oscar party.

The park also contains the Sam Goldman Amphitheatre, Eugene and Michael Rosenfeld Auditorium, and the Sooky Goldman Nature Center.

The early days of Beverly Drive were populated with modest shops that served local residents. Eventually, some bungalows were converted into restaurants. Famous names, like Joseph Reppac, came to dine at the restaurant. The character of the district changed in the early 1960s with the arrival of international designer brands like Gucci. Today, the corner where spaghetti was once served is home to top designer brands. The historic streetscape has a rich history that is still relevant to fashion today.
