All About North Hollywood

Nestled in the San Fernando Valley, North Hollywood is a diverse neighborhood filled with art, music, and entertainment. The neighborhood is a combination of modest residential blocks and the bustling NoHo Arts District. In the NoHo Arts District, you'll find the historic El Portal Theatre and a wide range of new playhouses and art galleries. You'll also find retro cocktail lounges, craft beer bars, vintage shops, and casual cafes.

The city is surrounded by several freeways and is easy to reach by car. The 170 and 101 freeways both pass through the area, and there is also a Metro station. From here, it takes about 15 minutes to get to Hollywood and DTLA. However, if you don't have a car, you can take the Metro Red Line to get to the downtown area in less than an hour.

North Hollywood was originally an agricultural community. The region produced vast quantities of peaches, wheat, and other crops. Even after the devastating 1938 flood, the area continued to grow. It also became home to many airfields during World War II. Many of these airfields were turned into suburbs for returning veterans. With this, the population of the city skyrocketed. After the war, the area was renamed North Hollywood.

In addition to its many restaurants, North Hollywood is home to some interesting monuments and attractions. It is also home to the Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park, one of the largest green spaces in the city. It contains memorials to several aviation pioneers and aviators, as well as several notable movie stars. You can also tour a real movie studio. The area has several theaters and art houses. A great place to celebrate the arts and culture.

The city's famous landmark, the Hollywood Sign, is only a few miles away. The famous Griffith Observatory is also within a 25-minute drive. Its telescope provides an excellent view of the nearby celestial bodies. If the weather is clear, this attraction is especially stunning.
