The Best Hiking and Biking in North Hollywood

The Hollywood Reservoir trail is about three miles long and is sometimes known as Lake Hollywood. This trail was closed for several years due to mudslides, but was reopened in April 2013. It offers rare views of the Hollywood Sign and 1920s architecture. Although the trail is paved, it is not as scenic as the Franklin Canyon reservoir.

The trail is a great place for exercise and bird watching. However, it is not always a convenient place to leave trash, so you will need to pack extra plastic bags and water bottles. You can also enjoy the North Hollywood Greenbelt. However, there are some drawbacks to the North Hollywood Trails, so be sure to pack a bottle of water.

 

If you're a hiker, the area has many scenic trails. You can take them to get some great views of the city and the surrounding mountains. There's also a fun hiking trail that leads to the Hollywood Sign and the Sunset Strip. From here, you can enjoy the sunset, the peaks of the Hollywood Sign, and the beautiful hills of Los Angeles.

 

Another popular trail in North Hollywood is the Tujunga Wash. This bike and hike trail is accessible from both sides of Tujunga Wash. It is closed to vehicles on weekends and features a beautiful riparian habitat. This path is also accessible from Fallbrook Avenue, Lassen Street, Coldwater Canyon Drive, and Nordhoff Street. It crosses over Highway 170 and Sherman Way.

There are also many trails near North Hollywood that are dog-friendly. The Runyon Canyon trail is a 2.5 mile loop and offers beautiful views of the Hollywood sign, Downtown Los Angeles skyline, and the Pacific Ocean. It is rated as moderate for hiking and is dog-friendly. Depending on your level of fitness, you can hike the entire loop.

 

North Hollywood is a quaint and diverse neighborhood that has a thriving cultural scene. The area is home to theaters, art galleries, and dance studios. There's something for everyone, whether you're looking for a quiet day out with your family, or you're looking for a night out with friends.

 

There are several hiking trails in Los Angeles. Most are easy to moderate and require no prior experience. Just make sure you bring sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water, and sunglasses for the sun. You'll be glad you did! The trails are open year round, but be prepared for the high fire risk.
